The EDJBA is excited to announce the second instalment in the Community Coaches Project – with Brian Goorjian!

The topic for the second clinic will be individual development. The clinic will take place at Balwyn High School, on Monday February 12 from 7.00pm – 8.30pm.

Goorjian is arguably the most famous coach in Australian basketball history, winning an unprecedented 6 NBL Championships and leading the Australian Boomers to their maiden medal at the Tokyo Olympics with a historic bronze medal.

The Community Coaches Project is due in large part to the support of the North East Community Fund as part of the North East Link Project.

“One of the things that we identified was coaches cancelling practices when they have limited numbers, not only does this mean courts are left unused and often paid for, players also don’t get the benefit of improving their skills.

If every team cancels just one practice session a year, that’s over 3000 practices a year across the EDJBA. The aim of this clinic is to assist coaches and players with their development when numbers are low, or coaches simply want to assist players with improving their individual skills.”

This clinic is free of charge, but due to number constraints, coaches will need to register. Please note this clinic will be capped at 200 and be only available to current EDJBA coaches. To register please head to

If you can’t make this clinic, don’t despair, there will be a total of 10 clinics for the EDJBA community across 2024. Keep your eyes on our website as more clinics are announced.
