The EDJBA is excited to announce the third instalment of the Community Coaches Project – with Simon Mitchell.

The clinic will take place at Narrandjeri Stadium, 281 Darebin Road, Thornbury, on Tuesday, March 26 from 7.00pm – 8.30pm.

Mitchell was the inaugural Head Coach of the South East Melbourne Phoenix NBL club, leading them to two finals campaigns in his four years. Mitchell joined the club from Melbourne United where he was an assistant coach for four years helping them to a Championship in 2018. Mitchell is no stranger to the EDJBA as he grew up in Watsonia and played junior basketball in the EDJBA.

The topic of the clinic will be ‘Half Court Drills’.

“Simon is one of the premier coaches in the country. As well as spending an extended amount of time in the NBL, Simon has been in charge of junior development at two local associations and has children playing domestic basketball. He understands the challenges that junior coaches face.”

“We chose this date as most teams won’t be training that week, and we hope to get many people along to this clinic as Simon is a world class clinician. Simon’s combination of knowledge, energy and clarity and off-beat humour means he will be a hit with those in attendance.”

The clinic is free of charge, but due to venue restrictions, registrations are required, so please fill out the details below. To register please head to https://tinyurl.com/EDJBAMitchell.

The Community Coaches Project is due in large part to the support of the North East Community Fund as part of the North East Link Project.

If you can’t make this clinic, don’t despair, there will be a total of 10 clinics for the EDJBA community across 2024. Keep your eyes on our website as more clinics are announced.
