On Saturday 15th February, the EDJBA is promoting and celebrating girls’ basketball with the fourth Girls Showcase!
Features of the round include:
• All Bulleen, Darebin and Koonung girls teams are playing at Bulleen Templestowe Basketball Stadium, Darebin Community Sports Stadium and Doncaster Secondary College, with all 112 games across the 9 courts being girls games. • This year we have introduced a Girls Showcase Tshirt! The Tshirt will be on sale at the three venues for $25, with all profit going to the Breast Cancer Network Australia (BCNA). Stocks are limited so get in early! Sizes from Kids 08 to XXXL. Card payment preferred
• A Girl Power award will be given out for each game, with the recipient receiving a Girls Showcase Tshirt and a certificate. Special guests, referees and venue staff will choose a player in each game who impresses them in some way
• BCNA merchandise will be on sale at the three venues from about 8.15am so if you haven’t had a chance to purchase yet you can do so at the venues. Merchandise available includes socks, scrunchies, shoe laces, caps, beanies, drink coolers, lanyards, supporter pins, survivor pins and tattoos. Stocks are limited so come early! Card payment preferred
• A limited number of Molten size 6 pink basketballs will be on sale for $25, with all profit going to the BCNA
• Many referees for the games will be female. All referees will be wearing pink Girls Showcase T-shirts
• The venues will be decorated to celebrate the day, with staff at venues wearing pink safety vests
• Bulleen will be selling cup cakes, slices, cookies and bracelets, with all profit going to the BCNA. Bulleen and Koonung venues will have special giveaways for players!
• All teams are encouraged to have a photo taken and post to their club’s social media. Please tag the EDJBA so we can share
• Photographers will be in attendance at times throughout the day to take action shots
