The EDJBA is pleased to announce the Community Coaches Project. This program is due in large part to the support of the North East Community Fund as part of the North East Link Project.

The Community Coaches Project is designed to assist the volunteer coaches of the 1641 EDJBA junior teams with a series of coaches clinics. There will be 10 free stand alone clinics by some world class coaches which will be hosted by different EDJBA venues.

EDJBA President, John Morkham was excited to unveil the project. “As a committee we’ve been discussing for some time how we could assist the clubs with coach development and it’s finally come together.”

“By investing in our volunteer coaches we aim to assist them with their skills, knowledge, confidence, and retention, as well as having a flow on to the 12,778 players in the competition.”

The first clinic will consist of none other than Melbourne United Head Coach Dean Vickerman. Dean is a 3 time NBL Championship Winning Coach and 2 time NBL Coach of the Year.  The clinic will take place at Montmorency Secondary College on Wednesday, January 24.

This clinic is free of charge, but due to size constraints, coaches will need to register. To register please head to http://tinyurl.com/EDJBAVickerman.

If you can’t make this clinic, don’t despair, there will be a total of 10 clinics for the EDJBA community across 2024. Keep your eyes on our social media as more clinics are announced.
