After consultation with all our member clubs and Basketball Victoria, and taking into account the position of the majority of our venues, the EDJBA Committee of Management has made the decision that from the start of the Summer 2021-22 season, all patrons 16 year and over entering EDJBA venues will need to be fully vaccinated or have a medical exemption. This applies to all players, spectators, coaches, referees and volunteers/staff.
In addition to the vaccination requirement, there are density limitations at all games. To stay within the density limits, the EDJBA will follow the Basketball Victoria recommendation of limiting spectators to 1 per player, with a group limit of 30. Masks are mandatory for all patrons over 12 years of age at all times unless medically exempt. Players, coaches and referees are exempt while on court participating in an exertive role.
We ask all patrons to be patient and considerate when entering our venues and follow the guidelines. Each venue will have a COVID Check-In Marshal to assist with entry. Every patron will be required to check in and every person 16+ will need to show their green tick on the Services Victoria App. Medical exemptions must be applied for through a doctor and added to the Australian Immunisation Register. A Covid Digital Certificate is then available through Medicare or MyGov.
Guidelines for entry:
- Fully vaccinated for 16+ unless medically exempt
- 1 spectator per player
- All patrons must check in prior to entry
- Masks are mandatory for all patrons 12+
- If you have COVID symptoms, please do not enter and get tested immediately
These rules will be subject to review during the season as government regulations and advice from Basketball Victoria change.
