The Eastern Districts Junior Basketball Association (EDJBA) is excited to announce our first ever WNBA Championship Winning Coach in the Community Coaches Project – Australian Women’s Coaching Legend – Sandy Brondello.
The clinic will take place at the Narrandjeri Stadium, Darebin Road, Thornbury on Monday, November 25 from 7.00pm – 8.30pm.
Brondello was a highly decorated player, playing in the WNBL, Europe and the WNBA. She was named WNBL MVP in 1995 and a WNBA All Star in 1999. Brondello represented Australia in four Olympic Games as a player, including two silver medallists and a bronze.
After working her way up the coaching ranks, Brondello has spent 10 years as a head coach in the WNBA with Phoenix and New York. 2024 turned out to be huge year for Brondello, firstly leading the Australian Opals to a Bronze Medal at the 2024 Paris Olympics, and later guiding the New York Liberty to the WNBA Championship.
The topic of the clinic will be ‘Developing Championship Defence’.
This clinic is possible due to the North East Link Community Fund.
